About the clinic
Who will I see at my appointment?
Kim Armstrong. All consultations and treatments are carried out by Kim personally.
What are Kim's qualifications?
Kim is a Registered Nurse with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing and a qualified Independent Prescriber, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You can verify her registration on the NMC register, and her full profile is on this site.
Is the clinic regulated?
Kim is registered with the NMC and practises within that framework, with professional indemnity insurance in place. Registration and company details are on our about page.
Is this a doctor-led clinic?
It is a nurse-led clinic. Kim is a Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber, which allows her to assess and prescribe within her scope of competence. Where something falls outside that scope, she will tell you and help you find the appropriate clinician.
Appointments and consultations
How long is a first appointment?
Between 30 and 45 minutes.
What should I bring?
A list of your current medicines and supplements, including anything bought over the counter, any relevant recent test results, and any questions you want answered.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes.
Will I be asked to book treatment at the consultation?
You will be given a plan and a price, and then left to decide. There is no follow-up sales call.
What if I am told a treatment is not right for me?
Kim will explain the reason and, where possible, suggest what would be more suitable.
How do I cancel or reschedule?
Contact the clinic as early as you can. The notice period and any charge are to be confirmed.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Availability outside standard clinic hours is to be confirmed. Ask when you enquire and we will tell you what is available.
Prices and payment
How much does treatment cost?
All prices are listed on our pricing page. Thread vein treatment is £175 for a 15 minute session and £300 for a 30 minute session. Online pharmacy consultations start at £25.
Will I be told the total cost before I commit?
Yes. At your consultation you will be given an estimated total for the full course or programme.
How can I pay?
By card in clinic or online, in pounds or euros.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Insurance arrangements are to be confirmed. A detailed receipt can be provided for any claim you wish to make.
Do prices differ between London and Marbella?
No. Marbella prices are shown in euros and pounds, and payment can be made in either currency.
Thread vein treatment
Is thread vein treatment painful?
Most people describe it as a series of quick, sharp scratches or a hot pinprick rather than pain. Sessions are short and anaesthetic is not usually needed.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on the number, size and depth of the vessels. Small isolated facial veins are sometimes resolved in one 15 minute session, more extensive facial veins commonly need two to three, and leg veins often three to four. You will be given an estimate at your consultation.
Can thread veins be removed permanently?
A vessel that has been successfully treated does not return. Treatment does not prevent new vessels forming, and the underlying causes usually remain. Many patients have a further session every one to two years.
Will the NHS treat thread veins?
Not usually, as they are considered a cosmetic concern. The NHS may investigate and treat varicose veins where they cause symptoms, which is a different condition.
How soon will I see results?
Treated veins often look darker for a few days before fading. Most people see a visible difference between two and eight weeks.
Can I have treatment before a holiday or event?
Allow at least four to six weeks, as treated veins look darker before they fade.
Medical weight management
Am I eligible?
Eligibility depends on your measurements, including BMI, your medical history, related health conditions, the medicines you take and a full clinical assessment.
Will I definitely be prescribed medication?
No. A prescription is never guaranteed. Many patients on the programme are supported without medication.
How long does a programme last?
Usually several months to a year of active programme, followed by a maintenance phase.
What happens when I stop?
This is planned from the start. Weight regain after stopping is common, so the maintenance phase forms part of the programme.
Can I do the programme online?
Largely, yes. Assessment and monthly reviews can be carried out by secure video consultation, although some measurements are more reliable in person.
Is it available on the NHS?
NHS weight management support is available in some circumstances, subject to eligibility and local availability, usually through your GP. If you may be eligible, Kim will tell you.
Medical skincare
What is medical grade skincare?
Products with higher concentrations of active ingredients, formulated for stability and absorption, and generally supplied through clinics. The meaningful difference is that a clinician has assessed your skin and decided what is appropriate for it.
Do I have to buy products from you?
No. You receive a written plan, and where you buy the products is your choice.
How long before I see a difference?
Hydration improves within a few weeks, texture within six to twelve weeks, and pigmentation within three to four months with consistent sun protection.
Prescribing and medicines
What is an Independent Prescriber?
A healthcare professional who has completed additional accredited training and holds legal authority to prescribe medicines within their scope of competence, taking full clinical responsibility for the decision.
Can a nurse prescriber write a private prescription?
Yes, within their scope of practice and competence.
Will I definitely get a prescription?
No. A prescription is issued only where it is clinically appropriate and safe. The consultation fee covers the assessment and is payable either way.
Do you prescribe controlled drugs?
Our position on controlled drugs is to be confirmed.
Where is my prescription dispensed?
Through a registered pharmacy partner, or a pharmacy of your choice where possible.
Why do you not name specific medicines on your website?
UK law does not permit prescription-only medicines to be advertised to the public. Specific medicines are discussed with you individually during consultation.
Locations and online appointments
Where are you based?
London and Marbella, with online consultations also available.
Can I switch between locations?
Your clinician and your records stay the same wherever you are seen, and a course of in-person treatment can be spread across both clinics. Care that depends on prescribed medication is available in the UK only, because our pharmacy partner dispenses to UK addresses and does not ship to Spain.
Can I have my consultation online?
Yes, for most services. Treatments require an in-person appointment.
Are consultations in Marbella in English?
Yes. Every consultation is in English with a UK-trained and UK-registered clinician.
Can I be seen if I am only visiting?
Yes. Visitors and second-home owners are welcome at both clinics.
How do prescriptions work between the UK and Spain?
Prescribed medication is dispensed by our UK pharmacy partner, which supplies UK addresses only, so medication-based care runs in the UK and cannot be continued from Marbella. Rules also differ by country and depend on your residency status and the medicine. Kim will explain what applies to you before you begin treatment.
Privacy and your records
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Health information is treated as special category data under UK GDPR and stored securely.
Who has access to my records?
Kim, and the dispensing pharmacy only to the extent necessary to fulfil a prescription. Records are never sold or used for marketing.
Will you contact my GP?
Only with your permission, and only where it is clinically appropriate, for example where a medicine needs to be coordinated with care you are receiving elsewhere.
How long are records kept?
For the period required by professional record-keeping standards. See our privacy policy.
Are online consultations recorded?
Our recording policy is to be confirmed.
Can I request a copy of my records?
Yes. You have this right under UK GDPR. Contact us and we will arrange it.
Where a treatment is not right for you, you will be told the reason. That answer is free, and it is given before you pay for anything.
